Walk with Jenn this spring
The Arthritis Walk® is the Arthritis Foundation’s annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. It is a tremendous opportunity to help improve the lives of the 46 million men, women and children doctor-diagnosed with arthritis.
Jenn was diagnosed with JRA (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) in 1982 at the age of 4. Her arthritis has affected not only her joints, but also at times her memory. She was confined to a wheelchair by the time she was in 8th grade until she graduated from High School.
Throughout most of her life, Jenn doesn’t remember a time without pain, but thanks to advancements in joint replacement, she is able to live without so much pain. In 1997, Jenn had her hips and knees replaced which now enables her to walk pain free in those joints. In 2001, she had her shoulders replaced and experiences no pain there. She works with her rheumatologist, Dr. William Ayoub, to monitor the arthritis progression.
Jenn has gotten involved with the Arthritis Foundation by participating in the Arthritis Walks as well as becoming involved with AJAO activities. As a result, Jenn has been able to meet others who live with arthritis.
If you meet Jenn, you will meet a person who lives with arthritis and isn’t controlled by it. In her free time, she likes to read, hang out with friends and family, take walks, listen to music and watch movies. Please join Jenn and her team, The Speedy Turtles, as we walk at the 2009 Arthritis Walk – Happy Valley Region!

Best of all, walk in honor of a loved one with arthritis and know you’re making a difference by raising funds to support Arthritis Foundation research, public health and public policy efforts to improve the lives of people with arthritis.
